Feeling Overwhelmed by the News? Read This.
Hey [First Name],
It’s March, and in some ways, I can’t believe spring is right around the corner. In other ways, I find myself thinking, Is it only March?
There’s a lot going on in the world right now, and I know many of you are struggling to find the balance between staying informed and not completely burning out. I feel it too. Just when I think I have my self-care figured out and my boundaries set around the news, something else happens, and I slip right back into an unhealthy pattern.
Recently, I was in that place again when a scene from a show on Netflix, Mo, stopped me in my tracks. A mother, glued to the news from her home country, tells her daughter, “We owe it to them to watch at least.” But her daughter gently challenges her:
"We owe it to them to live too."
That hit me. Hard.
It reminded me that we don’t have to prove we care by suffering nonstop. We don’t have to consume every bit of bad news to be engaged in the world. And most importantly—we are allowed to step away, rest, and take care of ourselves so that when we do engage, we can do so with clarity and purpose.
So, I wrote about it.
In this week’s blog post, How to Stay Informed Without Burning Out, I’m sharing practical ways to:
✅ Stay aware of what’s happening without feeling consumed
âś… Take breaks without guilt (yes, you can laugh and still care!)
✅ Find safe spaces to process what you’re feeling
âś… Take action that actually makes a difference
If you’ve been feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, I hope this post gives you some relief and encouragement.

And if you haven’t yet, check out my post on Action Tames Anxiety —because sometimes, doing something (even something small) can help break the cycle of helplessness.
Take care of yourself. The world needs you healthy, whole, and strong. đź’›
