Need a Break From the Noise? Here’s How to Recharge
Hi friends,
How are you—really?
Maybe last week was full of celebration for you, or perhaps it left you feeling overwhelmed by all that’s going on in the world. Either way, I want you to know I’m here to support you.
I’ll be honest, last week was a tough one for me. I was in Guatemala with a team, leading a business training, and found it so hard to stay present. Just ask my team members—they’ll tell you I was all over the place emotionally.
I kept reminding myself of one simple truth: Action cancels out anxiety. But even with that reminder, I still struggled to settle myself. It took a few days of reflection and asking some hard questions, like, “How can I stay healthy in this season?” and “What is mine to do?”
In my searching, I discovered a new-to-me technique called Breath Prayers. It’s simple, and you don’t need a faith practice to use it. Breath Prayers helped me calm my nervous system, find clarity, and figure out what steps to take next. I wrote all about it on the blog—be sure to check it out!
This season, I’m committed to rethinking my self-care plan and leaning into tools that actually work. Breath Prayers are one of those tools. They gave me the space to step back and focus on my purpose in this moment—what I believe I’m meant to do right now, in this time and place.
Here’s the best part: once I figured out my focus, I felt a huge sense of peace and determination. The overwhelm melted away, and I was able to settle myself.
If you’re feeling the weight of the world or just need a way to reset, I’d encourage you to give Breath Prayers a try. Start small, breathe intentionally, and see what happens.
As always, I’d love to hear how you’re doing. Here are some ways we can connect:
-
Join me on Facebook and Instagram where I’ll be demonstrating Breath Prayers and sharing more tips for staying calm and centered amidst the chaos.
-
If you haven’t already, join the free Midlife With Purpose Facebook Group! We’re having so much fun, and this Sunday, February 16 at 3 PM EST, my friend Kelly Andrews will be joining us for our weekly Live. Kelly is an expert at helping women tune into their bodies and find calm, and she’ll be teaching us a simple technique you can start using right away. The great part about the facebook group is that we record these live teachings so you can watch them at your convenience.

Exciting News: A Workshop to Help You Navigate Midlife
One of the best parts of 2024 was collaborating with my friends to bring you A Woman's Compass. Originally scheduled for October, Hurricane Helene caused us to reschedule. But now, we’re back—and better than ever!
We’ve made some exciting changes: this workshop is now a one-day event, and we’ve also dropped the price to make it more accessible.
This one-day event is the perfect way to kickstart this season of your life. You’ll walk away with:
-
A deeper understanding of yourself.
-
Clearer focus on what to prioritize next.
-
Practical tools to help you navigate life with intention.
For my friends who don’t live in the mountains, this would make a great girls’ weekend—I can even recommend some cozy Airbnbs nearby! If you can only make it for the day, it’s an easy 1.5-hour drive from Winston-Salem.
If you have questions, just reply to this email—I’d love to help you decide if it’s a good fit for you.
You can find all the details on the blog.
I realize that life can feel heavy, I hope this newsletter encouraged you in some way.
Let's unite this week and support each other!
Cheering you on,
Lisa
