Why I wait until spring to set my New Year Goals
How are you feeling today? I'm pretty sure everyone can relate to this question...."What day is it?" The week between Christmas and New Years can be hard.
I had a slow Christmas and it was good. I'm always a little nervous about how I will handle a major holiday without the kids at home but this year I was proud of myself. When the sadness came I let the tears flow and then I moved on. I noticed that it was a lot easier this year and I think it's because that was one of my goals for 2024.
Speaking of goals, are you making any New Years Resolutions? I've never struggled to set them. I mean I was born in 1968 and I'm pretty sure everyone else my age has felt the pressure to "do better" their entire life. Setting goals has never been hard. Keeping them? Well, that's another story!
Last year I tried something new. I spent the Winter reflecting and deciding what I really wanted from my life. After spending years building my life around everyone else, it was hard to know exactly what I wanted. I didn't set goals for the year until the Spring and you know what? It worked!
You can read all about it on the blog.
I also share about my latest Freebie, The Midlife Balance Wheel Guide. (Click that link to get your copy).
It was this very exercise that helped me focus in 2024 and as a result, I'm ending the year, celebrating some wins!
Whether you're a goal setter or not, taking some time this season to reflect and figure out what you really want is a great way to start the year!
Let me know if I can help you along the way.
Cheering you on!
Lisa
