Hi friend,
Last Friday, I found myself doing something I never thought I’d enjoy: playing with toddlers. A friend from World Relief posted that she needed volunteers while refugee families attended job training, and I showed up to help with childcare.
Turns out, it was the highlight of my week.
But what really stuck with me was a conversation with the man teaching the class. He shared how, after retiring, he found his passion helping formerly incarcerated people prepare for the workforce. When I asked how he got involved, he said:
“My wife and I take seriously the scripture that says, ‘Welcome the stranger.’”
It made me think about how each of us can find our own way to serve.
Not out of obligation—but because we’re wired for purpose.
Because small actions can bring calm to the chaos.
Because the world needs us.
